I’m going to ask you a trick question. What factors influence the price of your Facebook ad?
Pricing is obviously influenced by a number of things. But which is the most important?
AdEspresso has a research that can assist us figure this out. They used the same commercial and ran it to two separate groups of individuals, each with the same budget.
The following were the outcomes:
- Group1: Has a cost per website click of $0.142.
- Group 2: $0.03 per click on a website.
The second ad campaign received 1,103 hits, whereas the first received just 278. That’s a 4X increase in outcomes! What exactly was the trick? It wasn’t because of the ad. It wasn’t due to the budget.
It was the audience.
The Problem 👇
Facebook shows us a limited amount of interest suggestions to target. (15 to 25 interests)
🤯 It only gets worse…
They display everyone the same 25 suggestions… Every one of these 6 million advertisers receives the identical interest recommendations. Do you believe that focusing your campaigns on these 25 will produce the highest results? Or do you believe that pursuing them will result in a big bidding war?
Why Facebook do so?
The drawback of Facebook’s growing popularity as an ad platform is that they had to make their interface foolproof. That’s why they’ve gradually concealed many of the specific interests you can target from the interest suggestions you see when creating new campaigns.
So,
how can we gain access to Facebook’s “hidden interests” and begin targeting them in order to increase our CPMs and social ad performance?
Continue reading and we’ll show you how.
The Solution 👇
There are two solutions:
1️⃣ Free Method – Use graph API to explore all the hidden interests.
2️⃣ Paid Method – You can either pay for an expensive third-party tool or use this Facebook interest expander sheet. 🤩(Recommended)
1️⃣ Free Method : Use Facebook Marketing API
There are numerous APIs available from Facebook. The Marketing API is one of them, and it’s linked to Facebook’s marketing tools. Most APIs require basic authentication in order to track and limit usage. So we’ll start by authenticating using the Facebook Marketing API.
This isn’t a security flaw or a hack that puts your account in danger. Facebook has even published documentation on how to leverage their API to create value-added services. However, most marketers aren’t programmers, so this is one of the best-kept Facebook advertising secrets.
Step:1 Create a Facebook App
The very first thing you should do is go to the Apps section on Facebook for Developers (You can log in here using your Facebook ID and password). There, you’ll click on the +Create App button to get started.
→ Choose an option which doesn’t require any business verification
→ Here you have to choose business as an app type
→ Give your App a Display Name and add your Contact Email.
Then click on Create App ID.
Step 2: Request an access token
Requesting an access token, which you may use to authenticate yourself while accessing the Marketing API, is the next step. To get your token, go to Tools → Graph API Explorer.
First, choose the Application you just made. After that, pick Get App Token from the Get Token dropdown menu. The lengthy line of characters and digits below is now visible.
That is your Access Token. Once you have the access token copied on your clipboard, you can start using the methods I’ll show you below.
Step 3: Use the ad interest method
Now that we have our access token, Lets’s unhide all the hidden interests
With a keyword as an input, Ad Interest connects to the Marketing API and returns similar interests.
Ad Interest Method: https://graph.facebook.com/search?type=adinterest&q=[fitness]&limit=10000&locale=en_US&access_token=your-access-token
1) Replace the token you copied into your clipboard with ‘your-access-token.’
2) Then replace the keyword above “Fitness” with any keyword you want, much like the interface you’re already familiar with.
3) Once you’ve entered all of the required information into your completed URL, press the “go” button on your browser. Similar to the Facebook advertising management interface, you should obtain a list of all possible similar interests as a result.
NOTE: The only modification is that the 25-result limit has been lifted (the screenshot below does not include all available results):
The info you receive from the Facebook Marketing API is unappealing and difficult to read. However, there are over 100 different interests to choose from based on only one term! And, most important, they’re all relevant to your search and targetable.
2️⃣ Paid Method to explore Facebook hidden interests
This technique allows you to use any online interest discovery tool or purchase an interest expander sheet, which is highly cost-effective and has no limits. Check the link below for more details.
